Clooney’s Quiet Cameo
George Clooney’s brief appearance in “Spy
Kids 3-D: Game Over” may be the most appealing draw for some fans,
but he almost didn’t make it into the previews, says a source. That’s
because he didn’t want to. “He has a cameo in the movie, but he didn’t want his image used in the
previews,” says a well-placed insider. “He said it was inappropriate and
cheesy to overplay his very short appearance in the movie. Dimension [Films] was
begging him but he was adamant. So lawyers were called in.” Now both Dimension and Clooney’s rep say that the actor will appear in the previews with his full approval. Dimension insists there never was any conflict over the issue, and Clooney’s rep quoted writer Gertrude Stein, saying, “There’s no there there.” That's OK George, we already knew you were in it, no sense trying to hide! No more money for George Clooney! We have a feeling the producers wanted to leave you OUT of the previews because they knew your anti-American activities would negatively effect the film's box office numbers! Nice try, but word is already out!
